Tech as a Saturated Paradigm

For four decades, tech entrepreneurship has been structured around
three pervasive axioms:
- technology and product as the engines of diffusion,
- iterative testing as the method of validation,
- financialization as the main horizon of recognition.
This cognitive regime optimized for agility but eroded the capacity for orientation.
Most startups and funds do not fail operationally: they fail to define themselves strategically and symbolically, to articulate what they are, what they aim to build, and why it matters.

The Double Myopia

First distortion: Strategy
In Porter’s tradition, strategic positioning defines a system of structural choices grounded in resource asymmetries, deliberate trade-offs and systemic coherence. Yet it is often reduced to operational efficiency or incremental adaptation, losing its power of direction.
Second distortion: Brand
In Kapferer’s tradition, brand positioning shapes a perceived value through promise, narrative and symbolic capital. Yet it is frequently treated as cosmetic, detached from the organization’s core strategy.
